Remains rest at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull St., where a viewing will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. at Second Baptist Church, 3300 Broad Rock Rd. Rev. Ralph S. Hodge, pastor, officiating. Interment Mt Olivet Cemetery.

Prayers to the family. I worked at Bostwick Laboratories with Marlene, and she was a sweet and kind person. She was always the same whenever you see her, and I am so sorry to hear of her passing. Just know that God has to pick the angels that he knows not only was she a blessing on earth but will be a blessing to his home above the clouds. Your loved one was picked, and just know that she will be waiting to meet you there

I got to know Ms. Marlene while she was in the hospital. I loved her sass and spunk and would stop by to visit her when I was working. We had some good laughs and I'll never forget her smile. I'm so very sorry for your loss and send my condolences to all who are feeling her absence. I wish all of you gentle days ahead as you adjust to this new normal.

I remember meeting Marlene about 2 yrs ago through Tone( kinfolk) her loving & caring ways will be truly missed. I'll miss hearing "hey girlie"
