Marlene, 86, of Glen Allen, VA, went to be with the Lord on February 21, 2025. She is preceded into heaven by her husband of over 41 years, Paul Wright Ward, Sr.; parents, Clarence and Venna Wurts. She is survived by her children, Ric Farrow (Eileen), Shannon Lewis (David), and Paul Ward, Jr. (Teresa); grandchildren, Richard Alton Farrow III, Ashley Ward (Brian), Caitlin Kennedy (Sean), Wesley Ward, Mason Ward and Liam Ward; step grandchildren, Dianna Harris (Ricky), Matthew Bardwell (Alicia), Michael Trucksess, Cortney Lively, Elisabeth Trucksess (Edgar), Mark Trucksess, Clay Huskey; great-grandchild, Cameron O'Neil Farrow; step great-grandchildren, Marissa Gaytan and Jeremy Durrette.
A native of Ashland, KY, Marlene and her family relocated to Richmond, VA, when she was a child. It was here that she successfully balanced careers for over 50 years in both accounting and real estate. She was an avid lover of animals, especially dogs and particularly her Rottweilers of which she owned and trained multiple. Marlene was a longtime member of over 50 years at Monument Heights Baptist Church and truly loved the Lord.
The family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, February 26, at Bliley's, 8510 Staples Mill Road. A celebration of Marlene's life will follow there at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, February 27. Interment in Signal Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to Richmond Animal Care and Control. For condolences, see www.blileys.com.
