Megan Kelly Obituary
On September 5th, 2025 our beloved inspiration, Megan left this world as she lived in it -deeply loved- with her family and dearest friends by her side as she was called home to heaven. Megan Ann Fitzsimmons Kelly was born on October 7th, 1967 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Ann and Walter Fitzsimmons.
Megan graduated from Lansdale Catholic before pursuing higher education at LaSalle University. She lived a life filled with love, laughter, energy, and unwavering devotion to her family and those around her. She was the proud mother of four and somehow made the impossible look easy. While working full time as a nurse, she never missed a school drop off, soccer practice, shopping spree, or planning cherished family trips to the Jersey Shore. She was always moving, always giving, and always putting others first.
Megan was married to her husband, Sean, for 34 years. Together they built a life full of joy, partnership, and adventure. Starting their family in the beaches of Mommoth County, New Jersey before spending the next 25 years in Richmond, Virginia. Their love was deep and true, never losing their spark through sickness and in health. Their travels together took them to Europe, the Carribian, South America, Central America, and many places throughout the United States; always hand-in-hand, always with laughter and always up for the unpredictable.
She began her professional journey with a finance degree from LaSalle University but found her true calling in nursing later in life. She went back to school while raising a child with another on the way, proving her strength and heart time and time again. She began her nursing career in the Trauma ICU before transitioning to open heart surgery, and ending her career in the PACU.
She was one of ten siblings, and family was everything to her. Many weekends were spent in Landsdale, Pennsylvania visiting her large, loving family, where laughter and connection were always in abundance. She was a proud Gigi to her two grandsons, Bo and Beckham, and a devoted aunt to 20 nieces and nephews - roles she cherished deeply.
Megan was a best friend to many, a source of strength to all, and the kind of person who made you feel instantly loved. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched through her kindness, her warmth, and the joy she brought into every room. When moving to Richmond, Virginia Megan quickly adapted and made a lifelong group of friends who played such a supportive role in her life and throughout her illness.
She is survived by her parents Ann and Walter; husband, Sean; children Ryan, Madison, Hannah, and Jack; grandchildren, Bo and Beckham; siblings Courtney, Kris, Sean, Danny, Greg, Micheal, Brian, Patrick, and Brendan; Father/Mother in-law Steve and Grace.
