MARKS-MOES, Melissa Ann, It is with heavy hearts and immense sadness that we announce the passing of Melissa Ann Marks-Moes, a beloved wife, daughter, and cherished member of her community. Melissa's journey began on December 9, 1975, in Virginia, where she was born to her loving parents, David Marks and Susan Cohen. Melissa dedicated her life to creating a warm and loving home alongside her adoring husband, Neil Moes. Her gentle and kind nature touched the hearts of all who knew her. She had a deep affection for her dogs and found solace in their companionship. Melissa's passion for caring extended beyond her own household, as she endeavored to bring comfort and support to those around her. A proud member of the Jewish community, Melissa found joy and solace in the traditions and values of her faith. Her contributions to the community were immeasurable, as she exemplified the importance of community and generosity of spirit. Melissa will forever be remembered as a sweet and gentle woman, whose presence brightened the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She possessed a quiet nature that belied the immense love and compassion that resided within her. Melissa was preceded in death by her mother, Susan Cohen Marks. Left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted husband of 12 years, Neil Moes; his children, Carter and Abigail Moes; and Neil's family, Victor, Dale, and Laurie; her father and his wife, David and Sharon Marks; brother Steven (Alexandra); loving nieces and nephews, Sophie, William, and Charlie; aunts, Nancy Walters, Sandy Bricker (George); and cousin, Jennifer Ferrebee (Sam).

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Melissa's life will be held on October 29, 2023, at 11 a.m. Family and friends are invited to gather at B'nai Shalom Cemetery at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, located at 12609 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, VA 23238. Let us come together on this day to pay tribute to Melissa, sharing stories, love, and memories to help bring comfort during this difficult time. May Melissa's gentle spirit find eternal peace as her memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved and cherished her.
