Michael Pastore Obituary
PASTORE, Michael Joseph, 92, transitioned to heaven Monday, September 23, 2024. Michael was a long-time employee of the Richmond Post Office after graduating from St. Patrick's School on Church Hill and marrying the love of his life who predeceased him, Barbara Daugherty Pastore. Surviving are daughters, Dianne Pugh (Chuck) and Darlene Etheridge; son, David Pastore (Sharon); as well as seven grandchildren, Courtney Zahn, Kim Cornett, John Calvin Etheridge, Kelsea Witt, Marshall Pastore, Claire Phillips, and Erica Pastore. He was blessed with six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Virginia Walsh (Lenyon); sister-in-law, Barbara; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, September 27, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Bliley's Central, 3801 Augusta Ave., Richmond. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John Catholic Church, Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 10 a.m. Interment at Washington Memorial in Sandston, for family following the service. Memorials in lieu of flowers please to St. John Catholic Church, 813 W. Nine Mile Road, Highland Springs, VA 23075.

I am so sorry to hear of Mike passing! He was such a wonderful person. Ken and I remember so many talks and laughs with Mike and Barbara, especially at Hardees where they regularly met my parents and others after Sunday mass. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

I have been living with Mike at St. Mary´s Woods for almost a year. We share meals and do activities together. His son David is a great friend!

One of our fondest memories of Mike and Barbara was them helping us at a swim team meet while working the snack bar. We were having very slow sales so Mike said get all the onions you have and I will get us some business. He started frying onions and business went wild. Just an example of how quick he was to solve a problem. We are proud to have known this family during the 34 plus years we lived in the Sandston area. Our thoughts and prayers are with these families, may happier memories help ease the pain in the coming days.
