Michael Taylor Obituary
Michael Edward Taylor, age 81, of Richmond, Va., went home to be with Jesus surrounded by friends and family on Sunday, February 2, 2025. He was born September 13, 1943, son of the late James and Ruby Taylor of Wirtz, Va.
Surviving him are his wife, Michele Taylor; sons, Greg Taylor (Gena) and Eric Taylor (Alli); daughters, Nikki Horton (Ryan) and Sara Tomblin (Bubba); stepdaughter, Heather Harrington; six grandchildren, Clayton, Jaxson, Olivia, Miller, Mason and Kinsley; brother, John Taylor (Linda); sister, Martha Bowman (Dean); sister-in-law, Marilee Taylor; and many nieces and nephews. He was a faithful member of The Gideons for 40 years. His heart was for everyone to know the saving love and grace of Jesus. His grandkids want everyone to know he was the best Papa in the world.
A visitation for Mike will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grace Church, 2240 Cranbeck Rd, Richmond, VA 23235. A Celebration of Life will occur Friday, February 7, 2025 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Grace Church. In lieu of flowers, a donation to The Gideons International for Bibles would make his heart happy.

Mike Taylor was a GOOD MAN! He led a strong Christian life and gave back to His Lord and Savior. My family knew Mike and Sandy for 43 years and attended the same church for many years. Those memories have lived and will live on forever. To his family I will just say, take comfort that Mike is now waiting for all of us to join his family that have passed on. May the peace that passes ALL understanding be with the family in the coming days.
Nicky, I am sorry I could not be there Thursday night and yesterday. I had an operation at JW yesterday and I was preparing for that. Mike would understand. I am getting along in years also and time is starting to catch up with me.
I am going to miss Mike. Steve Misiano and I would meet together for lunch. Those memories will be with me always.
