April 14, 1925 - July 20, 2025
Mom was called home early Sunday morning, July 20th at the age of 100 after years of struggling with dementia. She was greeted by her late Husband , Bruce Byrd , Son, Bruce Byrd, Jr. and Grandson, Matthew Denton. She is survived by her immediate family, daughter, Gail White (Bruce) of Richmond, VA, son, Greg Byrd (Linda) of Wilmington, NC, grandchildren, Gwen DeLeon, Jason Denton, Daniel Byrd, Michael Byrd and 5 great grand children. The family would like to thank the staff at Morningside West End and Ascend Hospice for their extraordinary care and compassion over the last 6 years. A heart felt thank you goes to a special family friend, Karen Matheson whose love, support, generosity and compassion will never be forgotten. A private celebration of our Mom's life will be held at a future date.
