Mildred Lynn Obituary

LYNN Mildred G. Lynn, 86, of Amelia, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, April 27, 2007. Mrs. Lynn was born in Halifax County, Virginia to James T. Green and Lessie Spencer Green. She was preceded in death by her husband, June Lynn; daughter, Jane Brittle. She is survived by daugthers, Deadria and husband, Donnie Poore, Frankie and husband, Tommy Nester, all of Amelia; grandchildren, Michelle Gibbs, Katharine Schofell, Stacey Pedigo and Hunter Nester; five great-grandchildren, Brooke Gibbs, Delaney and Michael Schofell, Sydney and Jacob Pedigo; numerous nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Lucy Green; and special caregiver, Yvette Worsham. She was a member of Amelia Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She honorably served her country in WWII. She was a longtime member of the Amelia V. F. W. Ladies Auxiliary and Amelia Emergency Squad Auxiliary. Visitation will be at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St., Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside services Monday, 2 p.m. at the Amelia Presbyterian Cemetery. Memorial contributions to American Cancer Society or Amelia Baptist Church.
