Mun Seo Obituary

SEO, Mun Ja, 66, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, departed her life on earth to be with her Beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 24, 2007. She was the beloved wife of Peter Seo for 42 years; beloved mother of John Seo and of her daughter-in-love (she loved to say), Rebecca Seo; beloved grandmother of their children Ty and Grace Seo with grandbaby #3 on the way, who will be loved from heaven above; beloved mother of Jin Rood and of her son-in-love, Mark Rood; beloved grandmother of their children Abbie, Josiah, and Kayla Rood; beloved mother of Paul Seo and of her daughter-in-love, Connie Seo; beloved mother of Tim Seo. She was cared for every day of the week with exercises, massages, hair washing, makeup, manicure, words of love, scripture readings, and prayer while in the nursing home for the previous two years after the car accident that left her in a locked-in-state, by her husband, son, and daughter-in-law, John and Rebecca Seo, and her church family who was dear to her heart from the Reformed Baptist Church of Richmond. She was so well cared for that when she was admitted to the hospital a week before her death, the hospital staff mentioned over and over again how they could tell she was so well taken care of. She is survived by her mother, brothers, and their family, her sister-in-law and her children, and aunts, and her dear church family, Pastor Michael Brackett and wife, Tena Brackett. Tena was her friend, sister in the Lord, and like a daughter. Tena spent hours and hours the past two years caring for and loving on Mom. We remember so vividly how every morning we would find her sitting in her chair in the living room reading the Bible, singing hymns, and praying through her long list of people dear to her heart for hours and hours. We are seeing her prayers being answered even now in her dear husband's life as he is growing closer to the Lord, as well as in her children, and friends' lives. We sit around now and laugh and cry because of the legacy of love and faithfulness to her dear Lord and to her family. We are who we are today because of her love and prayers. We miss her painfully, but we can't wait to see her again when we are taken from this earth to be with our Lord Jesus Christ as we have placed our faith in Him. One of the verses that came to mind often while she was in hospice care was Psalm 73:23-24, "Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory." The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday at Bliley's- Central, 3801 Augusta Ave., and where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request that the money be spent in support of missions. You can send checks payable to RBCR Missions Fund, addressed to RBCR, c/o Pastor Brackett, 12803 Spring Run Road, Midlothian, Va. 23112.

To the family of Mrs. Seo- Your family was always a testimony to me. The care you have for your mom and for one another is truly a testimony of Christ's love. Although it saddens me to learn that she is no longer with us, I can truly rejoice in knowing that she is with our Lord! I spent many days with your mother at Stratford Hall and I got to know some of you rather well. The love of Jesus was always evident and I am honored to have known her and all of you.

It is a great loss and sorrowful parting. Yet, I rejoice that you are now at rest with our blessed Savior. I eagerly await the bodily resurrection from the grave and seeing you again.
