Nancy Lee Long Bishop, 79, passed away in Midlothian, Va on September 26, 2025 at the loving home of her youngest daughter, Rebecca, who, with her family, cared for her during her last weeks. Nancy was the daughter of Odell and Martha Long of Richmond and is survived by her husband, George "Duke" Bishop; siblings, Ron Long (Jean) and V. Eileen Long Allen (Barry) and her three children; twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her children are Angela Trammell Francis (Alan), Brett Austin Huber (Patty), Rebecca Lee Seo (John); 10 grandchildren, Hannah Witt (Jonah), Austin Thomas Trammell (Holly), Caleb Huber, Anna Kate Huber, Elliya Doss Huber, Phin Huber, Ezra Huber, Ty Seo (Megan), Grace Walsh (Isaac), and Isaac Seo. Nancy's great grandchildren were born to Hannah and Jonah, Amelia Ann and Joseph Thomas and Ella Lee was born to Austin and Holly Trammell.
Nancy enjoyed a young life with numerous friends and many cousins who loved her. She was first runner-up in the Miss Teenage Richmond Pageant at 16 years-old, where she sang "When I Fall in Love, It Will Be Forever", she was crowned Miss Justice of John Marshall High School. She was happily a Cheerleader there, and a Homecoming Queen. She attended Smithdeal-Massey Business School, just like her father before her. Her jobs included being a secretary, car salesman, and realtor. Nancy married young to Walter Dean Huber and brought into the world, Angela and Brett, and then married Duke Bishop and his children George Bishop (Trish) and Dale Bishop (Erin). By that marriage, she has two grandchildren, Will, born to George and Trish and Mavis, born to Dale and Erin.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 10:30 to 11 a.m., in Bennett Funeral Home; Chesterfield Chapel, 14301 Ashbrook Parkway Chesterfield VA 23832 prior to service. Nancy's funeral ceremony will begin at 11 a.m., with Pastor Darrel Bowe officiating. The family will continue to greet guest after the services until 1 p.m. Burial will be private at Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia.
