Nancy Chappell Obituary
July 13, 1938 - September 3, 2025
Nancy Brannon Chappell, 87, of Ashland.
Preceded in death by her husband Maynard Chappell, parents Irven and Ella Brannon, brothers Irven Jr., Harvey, and Warner. Nancy is survived by her brother Bobby Brannon (Peggy), son Ed Turner (Deb), daughter Lisa Turner, stepdaughter Betsy Chappell, grandchildren Edward IV, Morgan, and Loren Turner, Emmaline Chappell, and her beloved fur baby Blondie, and her much loved nieces and nephews.
Nancy graduated from Henry Clay High School in Ashland, Virginia, where she played softball and made lifelong friends. She then went on to work for the telephone company for many years (C&P, Bell Atlantic, and Verizon) rising through the ranks while raising her family, serving in management through her retirement. She took joy in time with her friends and extended family, and in singing in church choirs, touring the country, going to the theater and gospel concerts, and dancing with friends.
Visitation will be held from 4pm - 6pm on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Bliley's, 8510 Staples Mill Rd. Henrico, VA. Service to be held at 10 a.m., on Monday, September 8, 2025, at Bliley's - Staples Mill followed by internment at Independence Christian Church Ashland, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to Kenwood United Methodist Church Music Ministry, 11208 Elmont Road, Ashland, Virginia 23005.
The family would like to thank the caring and compassionate staff from Hanover Manor and Serenity First Hospice.

We were blessed to live next to Nancy for a brief time. She welcomed us warmly to our new home and graciously offered a hand of friendship as we got settled. We miss her. May Gods embrace hold her close and comfort her family always. Thank you Nancy Nancy and Kip Robinson and Max!
