Nancy Vaughan

June 22, 1947 - June 28, 2025

Nancy Hardy Morton Vaughan, 78, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Maggie, and is lovingly remembered by her son, Kent; brother, Jim; grandchildren, Ceci and Rowan; nephew, Chris; and niece, Michelle. Born June 22, 1947, in Norfolk, Nancy graduated from Maury High School in 1965 and from Longwood College in 1969. Later that same year, she married Michael Kent Vaughan, Sr. Nancy was a Zeta Tau Alpha Sister and a longtime member of Lafayette Presbyterian Church. As a teacher, she shared her appreciation for French and English language and literature with her students. Her kindness and creativity touched many throughout her life.

A viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on July 24 at Woody Funeral Home Huguenot Chapel in Chesterfield County. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 25 at Briery Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 181 Briery Road, Keysville VA 23947. In honor of Nancy's compassionate spirit, donations may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
