Nancy Wells Obituary

WELLS, Nancy Richards, of Richmond, Va., age 88, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia and Dalton Richards; her husband, Chet; and her sister, Barbara. She is survived by her sister, Mary; brothers, Charles and Vaughn; her children, Deborah (Jeffrey), William (Denie), Richard (Susan), Hunt (Magi) and Nannette (Scott); nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Nancy earned an associate's degree from John Tyler Community College and went on to enjoy a successful career at Richmond Newspapers, Inc., as an administrator in Retail Advertising.

Passionate about life, Nancy was an avid sailor and member of the Yankee Point Yacht Club, an accomplished seamstress and quilter and longtime member of the of the American Sewing Guild, and she loved nothing better than a good story, whether reading it or spinning a tale. She brought merriment to any gathering and joy to friends and family. She will be missed daily.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, May 31, at Robious Landing Park Shelter #2 in Chesterfield County, at 5 p.m., followed by a reception at the same location. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation in her honor.
