Nancy C. Yeary

YEARY, Nancy C., 80, of Glen Allen, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loved ones, on August 16. 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Harold T. Yeary; parents, G. T. and Estelle Crowder; sister, "Deanie" Lawson. She is survived by her children, Jennifer, Mark and Amy Yeary of Glen Allen; grandchildren, Alex and Travis Yeary of Colorado Springs, Colo.; siblings, "Dicky" Crowder (Margaret) and Linda McClellan (Archie) of Baskerville, Va.; and many loved nieces and nephews. Nancy graduated from Johnston-Willis Nursing School in 1962 and was given the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019 by the JWH Alumnae. Over the years, Nancy volunteered at multiple organizations, including church and schools. She especially loved volunteering at Lamb's Basket, where she served as warehouse supervisor and was on the Board of Directors and was instrumental in starting a tomato sandwich night to raise money for the pantry. She delved into multiple crafts, including cross-stitching and making flags and quilts which she enjoyed showing off. The family will receive friends and family from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Bliley's, 8510 Staples Mill Road where a Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery in South Hill, Va. at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Nancy's memory to a charity of your choice.
