Nell Simmons Obituary
Nell, 79, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2024. Nell was predeceased by her son, Vance R. Puryear; husband, Roy Simmons, Jr.; and brother, Robert Bagby, Jr. Nell is survived by her grandson, Stephen Brian Roth; and grandson-in-law, Randy Duran; nieces, Cyndi Sams (Mark) and Cheryl Farmer (Lee); nephew, Bill Bagby (Suzette); sister-in-law, Vivian Bagby; great-niece, Jessica Wise (and her family); great-nephews, Hunter Ellis, Evan Farmer and Ethan Farmer. Nell is also survived by a host of extended family; and friends from coast to coast. Nell was a lifelong member of Ramsey United Methodist Church and a retired school bus driver for St. Edward Epiphany School. Nell loved all animals and fostered numerous dogs in her lifetime. She loved tending to her flower garden and was an advocate for the Virginia Home, where her son resided for nearly 20 years prior to his death. Nell loved the Lord, her family, chocolate ice cream, good music, and she could outdance everyone! Her family will miss her dearly.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, November 25, 2024, at Ramsey United Methodist Church, 5900 Hull St. Rd. The family requests donations be made in Nell's honor to the Richmond Animal League (ral.org) or the Virginia Home (thevirginiahome.org).

My condolences to Nell's family. I worked with her many years with the St. Edwards transportation committee. She was extremely dedicated to her job and the students.
