Pamela Johnston Obituary

Pamela Culbreth Johnston, 75, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2024, in Boynton Beach, FL.
Daughter of the late Shirley and Robert Johnston, Pam grew up in Richmond, VA. She is survived by her devoted siblings, Beth Snyder, of Lewes, DE, Martha Shotwell, of Glen Allen, VA, Robert Johnston, of Vallejo, CA, and Ann Winton, of Charleston, WV; her beloved daughter, Ann Johnston; and precious grandchildren, Mia and Marco Mancusi, of Boca Raton, FL; her spouse, Mary Ann Pervelis, of Boynton Beach, FL; "outlaws" Peter, David, Jean and Chris; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
A lifelong activist for social justice, Pam spent most of her adult years in Huntington, NY. She served as Executive Director of the Victims Information Bureau of Suffolk County (VIBS), where services and shelter were provided for victims of domestic violence, rape, and child abuse. Pam was instrumental in developing a batterers intervention program, and she worked with legislatures to improve protection of victims.
In retirement in Boynton Beach, Pam loved the serenity and beauty of nature and the Green Cay Nature Center and Wetlands.
Memorial Service will be private. Family requests any memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

I am so saddened to hear of Pam´s passing. She was a lovely and funny person when I knew her, and very kindhearted. I was friends with her family and, in particular Martha, as we grew up together in church. May God bring all of you peace in knowing where she is now.
