Paul Harwood Board

June 1, 1967 - May 19, 2025

Paul Harwood Board, a Richmond native, died peacefully in his sleep in Durham, NC on May 19, 2025. He was 57 years old. He was the son of Dr. Anne Woodrum Board and Dr. John Arnold Board of Richmond, both deceased.

Paul attended St. Christopher's School in Richmond, and Duke University in Durham, NC, where he graduated with majors in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He was licensed as a Professional Engineer by the State of Virginia. He worked as a fire protection engineer in Paterson NJ, Richmond, and Charlotte NC. While in Richmond, he was a proud member of the Goochland County Volunteer Fire Department. Paul was an avid skier and Duke basketball fan.

Paul is survived by his daughter, Grace Elizabeth Board of Richmond, his son, Paul Richard Board of Norfolk VA, his brother, Dr. John Arnold Board, Jr. of Durham NC, and his sister, Susan Louise Board of Greenville SC.

Paul will be interred in Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond during a private graveside service.

I will always remember Paul, Susan and John playing `pinball´ in the basement. I can see paul´s smile and hear his and their laughter.
