Paul Wash Obituary

Paul Roger Wash

January 21, 1962 - June 22, 2024

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Paul Wash, a beloved father, grandfather, treasured brother and dear friend. Paul departed on June 22, leaving a legacy of love, laughs, and unforgettable memories.

Paul was born on January 21, 1962, in Richmond, Virginia. Throughout his life, Paul brought happiness and laughter to everyone around him. He had an intelligent, yet easy air that was warm and comforting to his family and friends. He knew no stranger whether on the golf course, at a concert or in the local pub. He was widely appreciated for his professional work as circulation director and regional circulation manager at the News Virginian and Richmond Times Dispatch.

His talent for talking easily with anyone will be missed most by his children Justin (Carmel) of San Diego and Meghan Johnson (Chris) of Richmond; grandchildren Caiden and Lochlan; his longtime partner Deborah; his sisters Susan and Cindy; brother Robert; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his mother Margaret Carter, his father Robert Wash and his brother Larry.

Paul was a talented golfer, a natural gardener and lover of nature, and a great admirer of film and music. His kindness and friendship will be dearly missed.

A celebration of Paul's life will be held at Three Notch'd Brewing Company in Richmond on Saturday, July 6, starting at 2 o'clock p.m. Photos may be viewed and shared on paul-wash.forevermissed.com. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Not too long ago I spoke with Paul. He was in such Good Spirits looking forward to the New Chapter of His Life ! He was always a Happy Guy ! I would see him about town over the years and he would share his latest adventures. I would tease him that his body wasn't young anymore. He would flash that grin ! He loved traveling to see his children and he enjoyed when his family came to see him. I am so sorry for your loss ! He will be missed !

I am so sorry to hear of Paul's passing. My husband Ed and I worked with Paul at the Times-Dispatch and both of us just thought the world of him. He was so easy to work with and quite knowledgeable about the work of the circulation department. I am sending condolences and wishing for blessings for Paul's family.
