Permelia Roest Obituary

ROEST, Permelia. We celebrate the life of Permelia (Pam) Ryland Roest, 75, of Richmond. Pam passed away September 29, 2007 and is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Calvin A. Roest; son, Charles Roest; daughter, Margaret Roest; and many cherished friends and family. Preceding her in death were her sisters, Christine and Sue Ryland; her brothers, Clyde and Henry Ryland; and sister-in-law, Gracie Ryland. Pam was retired from nursing after serving 40 years as an RN. She worked at St. Luke's, Humana and HealthSouth hospitals in Richmond. Her body has been donated to the Virginia Anatomical Society for medical research, and we pray her soul rests in peace with the Lord. A memorial service will be held at Welborne United Methodist Church, 920 Maybeury Drive, Richmond, Virginia 23229, on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 2 p.m. Reception will follow. She and Calvin supported the church faithfully. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Welborne United Methodist Church or Trinity United Methodist Church, 1072 Trinity Church Road, South Hill, Virginia 23970, her beloved hometown.

Margaret and family:

I was so sad to see the passing of you mother this morning. I knew that when my mom was sick earlier this year that you had told me about her illness. My prayers and thoughts are with your family at this very sad time. I do understand what you are going through and please feel free to contact me.

Take Care,

Melanie (Abbott) O'Neal

Cal, Margaret and Charles,
Your mother was a true blessing here on earth. I can imagine her in heaven taking care of and playing with all the children and animals. Her dedication to her family, her "Cal" and Welborne has been a true life lesson for me. I pray you will be able to feel God's love, strength and comfort during this difficult time.
