My mother, Carolyn Sanders, was so looking forward to being able to visit Pete as she was moving to Topping with my husband and I. How sad she passed before we completed our move. She had a great laugh and was so full of life and she was a good mom whether you were hers or just visiting.

Dear Aunt Pete,

I was so sad that you passed away while I was out in California, and I was unable to attend your memorial service. I will never forget you and your sunny smiling face, and all the kindness that you have shown to me and my daughters here in Urbanna. You were my Knight in Shining Armour, when the girls and I had no place to live for several months. You went far and beyond for a friend in need, even taking in my son Kelley Murphy when he came back to Urbanna to go to court with me. My daughters MaryHelen and Mallory were honored to meet you, and all of my other children were looking forward to the time that they would come from California to Urbanna and be able to meet the "Angel" who took their mother in! I will also think of you when I see a litle gray dog that looks like dear little "Maggie". There will never be another person like you, and the world is a poorer place without you Aunt Pete!

Your friend, Helen @ Hewick

Phyllis, You were my god mother. I tribute my Mother with making such a good choice, because truly you had your wings while on earth. Your sunshine touched so many people and you believed in goodness in everyone. We will all miss you, but I am comforted that you will be with Bill again. I know you missed him so. As Don and I go fishing this spring, I will know you will both be guiding us to the best place to fish for spot.

Missing you,

Monica Sanders and Don Burton

When I met Aunt Pete a few years ago, my heart went out to her. I knew in that moment that she was a true angel sent from above, and now God has called her back. It is a very sad thing that she won't be here with us in person, but I know she'll remain with us in spirit. I love you Aunt Pete, we'll miss you dearly.

Phyllis was one of the nicest people I have ever known-there never were strangers around as everyone was her friend. Now she will be with Bill forever more another angel gone home.
