Queen Esta Johnson Jackson, affectionately known to some as "Queenie," was born on May 10, 1948, to the late Joseph L. Johnson and Isabel E. Johnson in Skinquarter (Chesterfield), VA. She was the oldest of four siblings. Queen peacefully departed this life surrounded by her family on January 21, 2026. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph L. Johnson; brother, Raymond E. Johnson; and sister, Camelia L. Murray.
She graduated from George Washington Carver High School in 1966, where Queen met her high school sweetheart, Richard Jackson. In May of 1968, they were united in holy matrimony. They have three daughters, Angela J. Allen, Crystal J. Robinson, and Cynthia Jackson, and seven grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Richard Jackson; three loving daughters, Angela J. Allen (Phillip Allen, Sr.), Crystal J. Robinson (Shawn Robinson) and Cynthia Jackson; three grandsons, Phillip Allen, Jr., El'Emanuel Jackson-Solomon and Oliver Robinson; and four granddaughters, Victoria Allen, Amia Jackson-Solomon, Mya Jackson-Solomon, and Nesiah Solomon; her mother, Isabel E. Johnson; one sister, Viola J. Horace; one aunt, Bernice Thomas; one devoted niece, Gwendolyn J. Haskins; two special great-nieces, Shaina H. Flores and Kiara Haskins; two sisters-in-law and a host of other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Funeral Service: January 31, 2026, 10 a.m., St. James Baptist Church, 2169 New Market Rd., Richmond, VA 23231
Interment: Dale Memorial Park, 10201 Newby's Bridge Rd., Chesterfield, VA 23832
