Rex A. Carmichael

1963 - 2024

CARMICHAEL, Rex A., a retired veteran of the U.S. Navy, aged 60, passed away on March 25, 2024, in New Kent, Virginia. He was born on June 23, 1963, in Dodge City, Kansas, to Paul and Darlene Carmichael. He is survived by his children, Leah Carmichael (Robert Mayton) and Alexander P. Carmichael (Duyen Phan); his granddaughter, Violet Mayton; his partner, Sharon Andre; by his siblings, Brian Carmichael (Norman, OK), Donna Dray (Norman, OK), Mark Carmichael (Guthrie, OK), and Lee Carmichael (Wichita, KS); and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Rex graduated from University of Alaska with an associate degree and was an Electrician's Mate, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy. He was deployed to Afghanistan and Kuwait during his long military career. Rex served his country proudly. He loved working on cars, restoring antique vehicles, and enjoyed attending car shows. His family and traveling were some of his biggest passions.

Family, friends, and others are invited to Bliley's Funeral Home, Augusta Avenue, Richmond, Virginia, at 4 p.m. on April 7, 2024, to honor the life of Rex.
