Richard Hampton Obituary

HAMPTON Richard Clinton Hampton, 81, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord October 11, 2006. Mr. Hampton is survived by his daughter, Faye Schroeder of Richmond; and his sister, Margaret Davis and her children, Renee, Tina Marie, Wendy Lea and Clinton Dorr Davis and his wife, Monica, and their children, Justin and William. He is also survived by family friends, Dr. Carl Fastabend of Lake Charles, La., Major Gen. David A. Fastabend of Ft. Monroe, Va., and Mary Susan Squires of Midlothian, Va., and her children, Heather and Patrick Long. Mr. Hampton served with the U.S. Army as a medical technician in the 157th Infantry Regiment 45th Infantry Division in the Central Europe Campaign during WWII in Rhineland. His decorations and citations included the Purple Heart Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon and World War II Victory Ribbon. Graveside services will be held Friday, October 20, at 2 p.m. at Dale Memorial Park. Condolences may be made at MeM.com.

Very sorry to hear of Rick's death. I am his deceased wife's niece. I was very close to Rick and Caroline as a child, but lost touch. With deepest sympathy.
