Robert Fox Obituary

FOX, Robert L., Jr., age 73, of Mechanicsville, Va., passed away August 18, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Diann D. Fox; son, Robert L. Fox III; daughter-in-law, Anne D. Fox; grandchildren, Emma J. Fox and Joseph C. Fox. Bobby was raised by Robert L. Fox Sr. and Emma T. Fox in Highland Springs, Va. He attended St. Patricks Elementary School and graduated from Highland Springs High School in 1966. Upon graduating, he attended The University of Richmond and completed his degree at Virginia Commonwealth University. He taught at Highland Springs and Varina High Schools before taking other opportunities which allowed him to travel the world. Those who were lucky enough to have him in their lives, will miss his quick wit and entertaining stories. He would especially want everyone to know of his last father and son adventure: a 17-hour deep drop fishing trip to the Norfolk Canyon. The trip was almost more than both could take but resulted in his first Virginia citation, an 11 lb. 2 oz. Blueline Tilefish. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, at Bliley's - Central, 3801 Augusta Ave. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 25, at Bliley's - Central, 3801 Augusta Ave. Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Parkinson's Foundation.

Bobby and I were second cousins. But we knew each other since childhood. He was a classmate of mine at Fairfield Junior High School. Bobby's grandma and my grandma were sisters. Therefore we share similar childhood memories. We played with the same toys and we even had crushes on the same girls. When we got older, we look back on there separate lives and we saw many differences in many similarities. But we always remember that we came from the same roots and things like that never give way to the trials and tribulations and sorrows and miseries of life. Therefore, we look forward to seeing each other again in the next life. How joyous it will be!
