Robert Thomas Gentry, Sr, 81, of Richmond, Virginia, died at St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond, Virginia, on December 31, 2025. He was born in Richmond, Virginia, on March 21, 1944, to Anna Belle Williams Gentry and William Henry Gentry, Sr. Bobby was the youngest of four children and attended school before joining the Army Reserve. Bobby then started work at Byrd Press in Lakeside, Virginia, where he became Supervisor of the print floor. After retiring from Cadmus Press in 1989 (which bought Byrd Press), Bob started A Glass Master windshield repair company in Gettysburg, PA. He took tremendous pride in his self-employment, the many relationships he made with repeat customers and car dealer(s)/ships, including UTZ, Snyders of Hanover, and UPS, while fixing windshields. He loved hot rods, classic cars, and had an engineering spirit with creating his own windshield repair tools, RC sprint car parts, and restoring cars. Bob had a very close relationship with his daughter, Jennifer Jill Gentry, a 1993 Gettysburg High School graduate, lives in Glen Allen, Virginia. His son, Robert Thomas Gentry, Jr lives in Mechanicsville, Virginia.
Patricia Bradley Gentry, 77, of Richmond, Virginia, died at ManorHouse Memory Care in Henrico, Virginia, on June 30, 2025. She was born in Richmond, Virginia, on April 9, 1948, to Margaret Hensley Bradley and Robert Bradley. Patricia was the oldest of three children. Patricia worked full-time while raising her daughter, Paula Michelle Meredith of Deltaville, Virginia. Pat studied in night school to complete her Master's Degree in Business Administration, graduating in 1985 from the University of Richmond. Pat also worked at Byrd Press in Lakeside, Virginia, where she met Bob.
Pat's printing sales career would eventually lead them to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, in 1988, the same year they married. Bob and Pat started American Shopper, Inc., shipping American goods overseas to missionaries and members of the American military.
Throughout their 47-year relationship, Bob and Pat also deepened their faith. Having joined Freedom Valley Church in Gettysburg, PA, they shared their love of God by counseling church members, fostering adults in their home, and helping start Shining Stars Equine Therapeutic Riding Program. 7 of their 9 horses were transported several times a week to the riding arena to serve children and adults with disabilities. Bob would also serve time doing administrative work. Pat loved horses and spent her free time riding and caring for horses at their Gettysburg home, in the barn Bob built for her. Pat would also go on to work in Insurance and retire from Lutheran Home Care & Hospice.
A private graveside service will be held in the spring of 2026 at Westhampton Memorial & Cremation Park, 10000 Patterson Avenue, Henrico, Virginia. In honor of Bob and Pat and their service to the ministry of Shining Stars Therapeutic Riding Program, donations can be made to:
