Robert A. "Stretch" Grannis

GRANNIS, Robert A. "Stretch", 53, of Highland Springs, Va., beloved and dedicated father of Shanna, Robby and Taylor Grannis; beloved son of Margarete Grannis of Killeen, Texas; beloved brother of Carol Grannis Merrill of Largo, Florida; beloved son-in-law of Edmond S. and Dolores (Buttercup) Adams Jr. of Mechanicsville, Va.; and beloved brother-in-law of Lisa Lee, left this earthly home after an extended illness on July 20, 2007. He leaves many more loving friends and relatives that mourn his passing. Robert was owner of Roof Doctor Roofing Company and a resident of Highland Springs for almost 30 years. He was a strong, proud and kind man with a big heart who often helped others in need. Memorial arrangements are being made for Saturday, July 28, 2007. The family asks that anyone who would like to attend, please contact the family for more information. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, anyone who desires to show their love for Robert and the children he leaves behind, make a donation to the Taylor Grannis Scholarship Fund, established at Wachovia Bank. A fundraiser for the children is being set up at Bubbas Restaurant and the date will be given at a later time. The family wishes to give their heartfelt thanks to the many dedicated Bon Secours and Care Advantage Hospice nurses who cared for him during his last weeks and who came to love him as we do. The respect, nurturing and love that they showed to him and to our family will never be forgotten.
