Robert Leveque Obituary

Robert M. Leveque, 75, a longtime resident of Albemarle County, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday night, October 27, 2002. Born on April 8, 1927, in Le Havre, France, he was the son of the late Max and Martha Leveque. His loving wife, Yvonne; a son, Paul Leveque of Richmond, Va.; daughters, Deborah Leveque and Renee Hawkins, both of Charlottesville, Martha Mahaffey and Michelle McRaney, both of New Orleans, La., and Kimberly Verser of Washington State; and nine grandchildren survive him. Robert graduated from Vanderbilt University with a B.S. in Biology; and served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He moved to Charlottesville in 1973 after selling his laboratory firm to Warner-Lambert. He served as President/CEO of HUTEC, Inc., an international business firm, taking him throughout the world for the past 30 years. Active in many professional associations, he recently served on the board of the Alliance Francaise. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday at Hill and Wood Funeral Home, Charlottesville. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church on Friday, November 1, 2002 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Monticello Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA, P.O. Box 7047, Charlottesville, Va. 22906. Hill & Wood Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
