Robert E. Shiro Sr.

SHIRO, Robert E., Sr., 84, of Richmond, Virginia, departed this life on April 25, 2021 leaving a host of family and friends. Surviving are Marie Shiro, Edy Quinlan, Catherine Holmes, Bobby Shiro, Sharon Skarnulis, Linda, Brenda, Anne and Nathan Shiro; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Nancy, Carol and Barbara. Bob was founder of House of Carpet and was active in many community and business organizations. He served in the National Guard for many years and was awarded the Legion of Merit Award. Bob loved to travel and music was his passion. He played all percussion instruments while growing up and then later in numerous venues all around Washington, D.C. with a number of bands. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him. A family service will be held at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary in Scottsdale, Ariz., with burial to follow at Paradise Memorial Gardens, 9300 E. Shea Blvd., Scottsdale, Ariz. The family would like to thank those who provided such loving and passionate care to Bob during his struggle with dementia.
