Dear Imogene,
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
I remember how you were with me after the loss of my husband, Douglas. I still have the cards that you sent me that kept my spirits up at that difficult time in my life.

My maiden name is Cogville(Coghill); my mother was Zelma Echols, daughter of Harry Bishfield Echols, who I think was brother to Ross' father, born and raised in Darvills on Harpers Farm. Granddaddy Harry and Grandma Emily raised me. I taught school 31 yrs. in Din. Co., now early retired. So sorry to read the OB of my kin. My thoughts are with you. Love, Sylvia

When one works in the church, whether it be volunteer or paid employee, you encounter a multitude of people from all walks of life. Some of those people you just assume have them stay home, but others, you welcomed their visit and made a point to speak to them when they were there. For me, with Mr. Echols it was the latter. He was definately a character in every positive sense of the word. If I didn't make a point to speak to him, he would, without a shadow of a doubt, make a point to come see me and "harass" me. That harassment will most suredly be missed. Though we are taught in our Christian lives to celebrate the time when one of our own is called home to the Lord, that does not mean we are not allowed to miss that person. Of the many people I encounter weekly, if not daily at Fairmount Christian Church, he is one that I will certainly miss. Mr. Echols had a knack for volunteering and working for our church family and that desire to serve should be emulated by the rest of us not only as a way to show respect to Mr. Echols, but as he did, to show our respect and love for the Lord. I pray the family will be drawn closer together and will know that they can look to their church family for support through action and prayer.
To the family, I am most respectfully yours,

Dear Imogne,
I am so sorry for the great loss you and your family are experiencing. How he will be missed.
Ross had a personality all his own!! What fun we had as young adults. He kept us all laughing and how he could tease! He and Roy were so special to our family. We always enjoyed their visit to Mayfield when they brought Aunt Janie and Amy for a visit with Aunt Viola. We also enjoyed our visits to "Brunswick" as we referred to going to Aunt Janie's home. I am so sorry that I can't be with you this week. Things don't always work the way we would like. Please know Wayne and I are remembering you, your children, Gene and Martha with our
Love, Prayers, and Sympathy.
