It was a great pleasure seeing the 3 of you @ the beautiful services held for you mother. Your mom and dad did a masterful job raising you all. I saw a rainbow in the sky and there had been no rain, my nephew (Josh) said; the rainbow was a sign that meant your mom was in heaven. Praise God!!!!

The world is a better place because you mother was part of it. Her professionalism was an inspiration to those of us who knew her and her gentleness was admirable. May God comfort you during this time of loss and grief.

From my sister (Nina Robinson Govan of Greenbelt, MD) and myself, our heartfelt condolences.

Our parents go back with Bob and Ruth (from the late 1940s) to the days of the old Cooley homestead located at 21 Mars Street, Petersburg.

I, my sister and "Cootsie" (Ruth's nickname for your father) use to get into kid's summertime mischief together at our common vacation spot: Capahosic, VA. on the York River. He was one of my best friends, and the brother I always wanted!

I met Ruby right after Cootsie came out of Howard Law School in the mid-1960s, where she was one of the librarians there. We last talked in October, 1998, right after my father (Federal Judge Spottswood W. Robinson, III) died. That year was like a double blow, since Cootsie had died the previous summer....

Again, our condolences.

"Billy" Robinson.

I was saddened to learn of the death of Ruby Jean. She and I were roommates during my sophomore year at Virginia State College. A more wonderful, kind and compassionate person than she could not be found. Please accept my most sincere condolences.

Please accept my condolences in the passing of your beautiful loved one, Ruby Carter Cooley. I first met Ruby at Virginia State College [University]. As we worked professionally together in business education over the years, I often complimented her on her professionalism and her ability to get the job done. She was one of the most beautiful ladies that I have had the pleasure of knowing. May God bless each of you.

Ruby was a gracious and gentle "lady" in the truest sense of the word. I was priviledged to have worked with her in the Chesterfield Public Schools, she was loved and respected for her dedication to education. She will be missed.
