Sarah Coyne Obituary

Sarah S. Coyne

July 10, 1946 - September 13, 2025

With heavy hearts we share that Sarah Coyne, 79, of Richmond, VA, has passed away on September 13, 2025.

She is preceded in death by her father, Samuel Soble and mother, Mary Snyder Soble; brothers, Paul Soble and Stanley Soble; sister, Zelda Plotkin; and her dog, Sophie. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Peter Coyne; her daughter, Devin Davis (Scott); grandchildren, Samantha Bender, Madelyn Bender, and Taylor Davis; and her dog Parker.

Sarah graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and went on to pursue her degree from the Medical College of Virginia School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse for many years before both starting a monograming business, called Initials Plus, and Devin's Boutique in Carytown. She retired after working as an Administrative Assistant at Style Weekly. Her house was always the hub for any Jewish holiday. She loved to entertain, and her and Peter's home was always filled with music, drinks, and good food (especially her turkey and brisket). Sarah was a lover of animals, a compassionate soul who loved fiercely, and was not afraid to stand up for what she believed in.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Richmond SPCA or the American Lung Association. The family will celebrate her life at a later date.
