Dear Mom,
Just want to let you know how much I love and miss you. I wish I had spent more time with you than I did. You meant the world to me and all that you did for the family. I know at times you did without so you could help someone in the family. I know you are with God, Aunt Julia and Daddy and finally in peace. In some small way this makes up for the pain you had to endure in your last months. I love you.
Your Son,
Tim

Dear Nannie,
I will never forget all of our fun times together. I will remember especially going to Chuck-E-Cheese, where you were say "Jessica, you are like a drunken sailor" because I would spend my tokens as soon as they were given to me. I am so glad you got to come to my First Communion in May. I love you Nannie with all of my heart and will never forget you.

Dear Nannie,
I will always remember all the fun we had together when you came to our house with Grandma to babysit us while Mom & Dad were out of town. I will remember the time when we went on a picnic at James River Park and I opened my sandwich and only had a half of a sandwich, we never could figure out what happened to the other half. I love you Nannie and will always cherish our time together.

To My Beloved Nannie,
Nannie was a very strong willed person, and was always saying to me,"Nannie doesn't care if you get something to eat, Nannie doesn't care if you do this or that." Because of her sickness at the end she didn't always make sense when she talked, but it always put a smile on my face to hear her speak. She was a strong fighter during her last few weeks. She was an all around person, and the perfect role model for anyone. She showed me that you should share all that you have. And I loved her to death for that, and I know she is with the angels now. I know she is smiling down on all of us right now and I am so happy she is relieved of all her pain. I loved my Nannie so so much, and she will always be in my heart.

Dear Nannie,
I will always remember all the wonderful holidays I spent at your house, especially how we had to eat in shifts, men first, children second and women last. I will cherish and keep close to my heart all the fun times we had together, our talks and how we always had to catch up on own most favorite soaps. I will remember with a smile on my face, the time I took you down to my boat and it was too far for you to walk so we found a wheel barrow, put you in it and rolled you down to the boat. What a fun day! Even as you approached your late 80's you never lost your sense of adventure and zest for life. You leave four generations with so many wonderful and loving memories of you. I love you, Nannie, and will miss you every day of my life.
Love,

To My Beautiful and Wonderful Mom,
It has been twelve days since you left me. My heart aches for you, but I know you were in pain and suffering so much. I didn't want to let you go, but I knew you were going to a better place. Mom, I was glad that I was there with you, to hold your hand, comfort you and cry with you when you were in so much pain. I couldn't do anything to relieve your pain, just be there for you. You had so much strength with the pain that you endured every day. I know God was there with you. I am going to really miss the weekends that I spent with you and all the talks we had. I will miss all the things that you always would do for me when I needed you. You were always there for me. I will always miss you mom and a huge void now exists in my heart. When God needed an angel he took you. Rest now my sweet mom, you deserve to. You will always be in my heart.
Love, Dolores

Old Nannie- I'll always remember the times you took me to the $ store and McDonalds ( and church) when I was younger, but as I grew older you always had time to talk to me and listen to what I had to say! You were so funny sometimes always making me laugh even when I didn't feel like it! You were so understanding and I know you truly loved me! Thank you for being there for me and I'll always LOVE AND MISS YOU!!!!!

When I met Nannie I knew there was a special thing she had and that was her love for her family! And yet her heart was so big that she showed me love as well and everyone she met!I believe she was already an angel upon this earth. She held the family together with her deep love and her devotion to all of us! Nannie knew her time was near but was determined to share the holidays with her family and tried to hide her pain so her family could enjoy the holidays! She found joy in the lives of her family! She was one of the most unselfish persons I have ever known-always thinking of others and making sure they were OK!She had a great sense of humor and loved laughter and had a beautiful smile that also showed in her eyes! Her heart was golden and stronger than any pain she had because of her love and faith in God! She endured the pain quietly to spare her family so we would be ok with her passing! She kept her family above all and before herself and also found time and love for me! I love her so and will miss her so much! I could always talk to her about anything and she made me believe people were good at heart!Nannie you are a true lady and a blessing to us all! I know you are watching over me from heaven's window and your love and wisdom will always remain with me!Her wings are released and she is without pain and joy is with her Lord because another Angel has returned home! I LOVE AND MISS YOU NANNIE!!

Nannie, I miss you so much! But you were in so much pain and suffered so but with grace and dignity and never let on how much pain you were in.I guess God needed you more than we did thou that's hard to believe and understand. You were such a strong woman and because of you we are a family of very strong women (and sometimes stubborn). you were always very passionate in your beliefs and you made me a believer of many things.I could always come and talk to you and you always made it sound so easy and I thought why didn't I think of that. You had so much wisdom and integrity. You had a great sense of humor, you always had us laughing. And that smile-BEAUTIFUL!! I'll always love and remember the things you taught me! You were a real Southern Lady! I'll always treasure the nights we sat up together and just talked about everything. I'll always remember all the Redskin games and Nascar races we watched together over the years! Nannie you were just an all around great lady whom everyone looked up to and respected! I know you are up in heaven looking down and watching over me! You are a beautiful angel! I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU!

To "Nannie's" family:
I feel so honored to have known "Nannie" these past eight years. She had such a beautiful, noble and courageous spirit and I admired her strength and respected her wisdom and values. Even though she has passed, her spirit continues to live through each of you because she left her "footprints" on each of your souls. Her faith and her love for her family were unwavering. I pray that each of you find peace and comfort in the memories, smiles and laughter you shared with Nannie. She was truly one of a kind and I count myself blessed for having known her and in being a part of her beautiful and loving family.

Dear Nannie,
My heart aches from losing you but at the same time I know you are at peace now and that lessens the pain I feel.I will miss so many things about you but I think what I will miss most is having a grandmother who had such a sense of adventure. You were always willing to try new things and that never changed even as you got older. When I told everyone at work that my 89 year old grandmother rode on the back of my motorcycle at a summer cookout they could not believe it...but then they didn't know you.I miss you Nannie and will love you forever

Nannie,
I sit here feeling a bit of saddness, but more than that I feel blessed. Blessed that I had you in my life. I try to think of what to write and with each thought of you I feel a smile cross my face, so I want to thank you for all the wonderful memories you left me with. You had such courage and strength, you were always kind and never judgmental. You taught me alot about keeping the faith. I will miss your beautiful smile and great sense of humor, but will never forget them. you will remain in my heart always. I love you

Mrs. Nuckols,
Thanks for being the best mother-in-law in the world. I will really miss doing the fun things together and working on all of your broken household fixtures. No matter what anybody says you made the best pancakes. The holidays won't ever be the same without going to your home.

My Dearest Mom, January 6, 2007
Today we laid you to rest. A huge void now exists in my life. You helped to guide me through so many difficult times in my life. No matter what you always gave me your unconditional love and support. You were the glue that held this family together. It was so hard to let you go, but I know you were suffering so. You endured your pain with such grace but I know that came from your strong faith in God. I know you are now at rest, free from pain and with Daddy and all of your love ones that passed before you. You know I always told you the best was yet to come....now I know that holds a greater meaning for me because one day I will be with you again. I love you with all of my heart and will treasure all our memories forever and will share over and over with my children, grandchildren and hope one day they will pass it down to their children. Rest now....you have earned it...all my love until we meet again. Love, Beverly, your daughter.
