Sterling,
I remember your wonderful laugh and how much fun we would have when I visited the family. My sympathies go to the family. Rest In Peace.
To the family: You may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. these have come so that your faith.. may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 1Peter 1:6,7.

To the Hymes Family:
James, Belinda and Dennis,
Mother and I want you to know that we love and care about you. We are lifting you in prayer. As lifelong friends and neighbors genuine love never ends! Time does not change it.
Sterling was his own person! A very physical personality, well liked and loved and as you know he was always determined.
Sadden to see his obituary, I thought of our families relationship of more than forty years..thinking fondly of my earliest memories, much of that time in your home, my home or the neighborhood was playing with Sterling and Dennis. God makes no mistakes, keep trusting him for strength in the days ahead. Remember the love you shared with Sterling, reinforce the love you have for each other and others! God Bless you all!

Sterling;
You were one of our oldest friends, before school, before the playground, before the prom; before most of life.
We were blessed to know one another doing the innocent years when all of life was valued; and little of life was taken for granted.
We knew each other when Halloween was a great big neighborhood party; and Christmas was almost always white. We played together during the time when EVERYONE could afford to put decorative lights in their window at Christmas time.
We met when Byrd Park was a place of serenity and beauty abound everywhere.Danger, not in those precious days...
We met when the air was so clean we used to put pots on the back porch to collect the snowflakes for homemade ice cream.
It was during both the best and the worst of times. In the midst of great human compassion, the Vietnam War, and the Civil Rights Struggle. Now it is your time, to rest and say farewell for now, but not forever. For where you go, there is nothing but life eternal.
In conclusion, good buddy, when you run into my dad, tell him I said Hey....I miss him alot.
I'm glad I knew you, but most of all I am glad you chose to know me.
Peace and so much Love,
Janice
