Sue Ellyn Morton Love

LOVE, Sue Ellyn Morton, 86, passed away on December 23, 2021, after battling cancer. She has joined many family members in heaven praising our Lord and Savior Jesus. Sue was born in Alexandria, Indiana and was a Richmond, Virginia resident at the time of her death. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Florence Morton. She was also predeceased by her sister, Marilyn M. Moore. She was so loved by her family and is survived by her husband of 65 years, P. Carter Love; as well as their three children, Paula Sue Love Stagg (Mark W. Stagg), Bradley Curtis Love (Melanie P. Love, D.D.S.) and Jennifer Jeanne Love Mann (Russell T. Mann III). Sue is also survived by her eight grandchildren, M. Winston Stagg Jr., Ellen Carter Stagg Milam, Taylor A. Stagg, Connor D. K. Love, Amanda L. Longoria, Catherine E. See, Jonathan W. Chvala and W. Bryce Mann. She is also survived by her great-grandson, Harrison R. See. Sue and Carter moved several times throughout their marriage – and some of their favorite hometowns included Williamsburg, Richmond and The Villages, Florida. She made friends very easily and was loved by many. Her smile was contagious and her love for life was extremely evident. Sue was a great correspondent, always remembering her friends and family with cards and notes – and she was the shutterbug of the family! She enjoyed viewing movies while eating popcorn, quilting/sewing, watching Columbo reruns and singing along to Christian music by Bill Gaither. Sue loved being with family and she loved her pet schnauzer, Cody. Sue was unique in that she loved sports, especially college basketball and professional golf and was always ready to talk highlights! She was the heart of the home and she made her family the top priority. As the children grew beyond their elementary school years, Sue became a realtor – an accomplishment of which she was extremely proud!

She loved and served the Lord! Knowing that she is in heaven with Jesus, living out His promises and worshipping Him face-to-face, gives us the peace and comfort we need to live out the rest of our earthly days without her. We love you, Mom!

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 11 a.m., at Bliley's - Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Road, Richmond, Virginia 23224, with an on-site reception to follow. Time of visitation will be held beginning at 10 a.m., prior to the service.
