June 2, 1935 - September 18, 2025

Sue Diane Willis died peacefully in Richmond, Va. on September 18, 2025. Born in

Washington, D.C. on June 2, 1935 to the late Lottie Lambert and Maurice Lambert, she spent her childhood throughout the United States, as the daughter of a career Naval service member. She met her late husband, Charles M. Willis in Norfolk, Va. and they spent their married life in Virginia.

Sue will be deeply missed by her family and is survived by her brother, James Lambert (Sally) of Holland, MI; son, Charles Willis, Jr. (Judy) of Virigina Beach; daughter, Valerie Miller (Larry) of Midlothian; four grandchildren, Kristina Weimer (Jonathan); Lawrence Miller IV; Nicole Bernier (Joey); Annabel Willis; and four great grandchildren, Owen Arbor, Kellan Bernier, Ava Weimer and Grayson Weimer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Willis to whom she was married for fifty three years.

Sue was an expert seamstress, making beautiful garments for herself and her children, an avid gardener and had a song for everything. Her grandchildren have wonderful memories of their summers at Lake Anna with her, spending time playing card games, going on walks and boating.

A celebration of life will be held in April 2026. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
