Susan Bailey Obituary

Susan Bailey

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Bailey, of Chester, VA, on September 28, 2025. Born in Richmond, VA on October 25, 1949, to the late, Claude and Nannie Stevenson.

Susan is survived by her beloved brother, John T. Stevenson (Joanne Stevenson), and loving nieces, Amy Kerr (Ian Kerr), Rebecca White (Jay White), and Dana Faehl (Andy Faehl).

Susan will be remembered for her dedicated career of 20 plus years at the Dupont Spruance Plant in Richmond, VA. She was a member of a bowling league with fellow employees, and many were like family to her.

After retiring, Susan became a "gemologist" and began to create her own jewelry. Susan also loved and cared for "all God's creatures, great and small" fostering many a cat/dog and nursing them to good health. She was always creating, gardening, loving, fostering and being the most wonderful aunt, sister, friend, and neighbor. We will all cherish the memories of our beloved Aunt Susan, as she has left an indelible mark on our hearts forever.

Per Susan's request, no service will be held. Those who knew Susan know she did not like to be fussed over and would rather give than receive. In lieu of a funeral service, and to honor Susan's character, we ask that all who wish to donate to http://caringforcreatures.org/ do so on or before the 76th anniversary of her birth, October 25, 2025.

Johnny, her older brother remarked today, "My little sister, I loved her. Growing up, I did tease her a bit.... I fondly remember the call of the little sister - country wide- "I'm going to tell Mom!!!" Yes, please go and tell Mom and give her a big hug from us all. Can't wait to see you again! We love you!!!

Yesterday

Sorry to hear of Susan's passing , she was a lovely person. Although I had seen her in years I remember her well growing up in my neighborhood. We went all the way through school including Meadowbrook. And Johnny went to Manchester with my brother and sister. May she rest in peace
