Susan Wright Obituary

WRIGHT, Susan Fodill, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt, passed away suddenly on May 29, 2024. Her final hours were spent surrounded by her loving family.

Susan is preceded in death by her father, Ken Fodill, Sr. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Thomas "Tom" Wright, Jr., her children Mehgan Ledin, Thomas Wright III, and Janna Lewter (Jamal). Susan was a proud MiMi to her cherished grandchildren, Caroline Ledin and Kingston Lewter. She was deeply loved by her mother, Janet Fodill, and her siblings: Kenny Fodill, Jr. (Suzanne), Cindy Fodill Edwards, Stephen Fodill, Sr. (Jeniffer), Eric Fodill (Kim), and Pamela Fodill Gray (Scott). Susan was also adored as the favored aunt to her 15 nieces and nephews, along with her eight great-nieces and nephews, all of whom she spoiled with love and affection.

Susan dedicated her life to her children and found immense joy in being with her family. They shared yearly vacations, memorable trips, and countless singing sessions, often belting out her favorite song, "Delta Dawn". Her kitchen was a hub of love and laughter, where she delighted in letting her nieces and nephews indulge in treats their parents might deny them.

Susan will be fondly remembered for her eagerness to please, infectious laugh, and her innate ability to never take life too seriously, but her greatest legacy lies in her unwavering devotion to her loved ones.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 from 4 to 6 p.m. followed by a rosary at 6:30 p.m. at Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave, Richmond, Virginia 23230. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony's Maronite Catholic Church, 4611 Sadler Road, Glen Allen, Virginia 23060.

I just heard of Susan's passing, I send out heart felt sympathy to Tommy, Meghan, Thomas, and Janna. Although I have not seen Susan in years, I will always be appreciative of of her "being there" to help take care of my children growing up in Chestnut Hills neighborhood. I do not know what I would have done without her! I said to my daughter, Lauren, recently every neighborhood needs a Susan. She was beautiful inside and out.

Susan and I were carpool buddies. We spent endless hours sharing grandchildren stories and trying to solve many of the world´s problems. She was a pure joy to be with and I will miss this beautiful soul. I am happy i have my fond memories.
