Thaddeus Williams Obituary

WILLIAMS, Thaddeus Dewitt, Thaddeus Dewitt Williams entered life on April 17, 1953, as the fifth child of the Reverend Charles Williams and Hazel Williams in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was a graduate of First Colonial High School where he was admired as a great athlete in track and field and a most popular student. Growing up, he loved nothing more than surfing and working with his father and brothers. He became a resident of Richmond, Virginia in 1973 to pursue a bachelor's degree in advertising and communications at Virginia Commonwealth University. While attending college he met the love of his life and future wife of forty-four years Michele Barnes Williams.

Thaddeus retired from the United Parcel Service as a manager, and he loved working there for thirty years. After retirement he continued working as a teacher and as the owner of Williams Construction Services. He was a good neighbor who always lent a helping hand with yard work, home projects and car repairs.

Thaddeus departed this life on Sunday, January 28, 2024. He was a devoted Husband and father, and he was preceded in death by his father and his wife. He will be dearly missed by his mother; two children Christopher Charles Williams and Candice Michele Williams; five brothers, Edward Williams, Charles Williams jr. (Linda Williams), Norman Williams( Deborah Williams), Lancelot Williams (Kimberly Williams) and Brian Williams; and a host of close relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a celebration of life service at 10 a.m., on February 9, 2024, at Park lawn-Wood Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Hampton, Virginia. Interment will follow.

To the Williams family it sadden my heart to hear about the passing of one of the most loving and caring people I know. Thaddeus was a very Intelligent young man along with his siblings. They all were raised by wonderful parents. Rest well my childhood friend until we meet again.

Thaddeus Williams Family:
We mourn the passing of Thaddeus. Know that a simple prayer of gratitude for the world around us is, "This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it". May God grant us peace of consultation and joy of love in memory of your beloved Son, Husband, Father and Brother.

Oh I am so sorry to hear of Thaddeus´s passing. I have been trying to find him for several months as I am working on a committee for our 53rd FCHS class of 1971 reunion. I will do my best to be there. But if I don´t make it please know that Thaddeus was loved by many of his classmates and remembered for his kindness and athletic ability. He will be greatly missed at our reunion but not forgotten!

Thaddeus was a great guy. Thaddeus and I (Mike Goodwin) went surfing to Sebastian Inlet, Fl some 50 years ago for a couple of days. We drove his dad´s truck and also slept in it - what a great memory. I was recently trying to contact Thaddeus about our upcoming class reunion. He will be missed by all who knew him.
