Nana,
I have missed you more than words can say. You are my second mother and have taught me more life lessons than I can count. I still talk to you and kiss your photo daily and will until I am blessed enough to join you one day. I know you are watching over me, my children, and my grandchildren from heaven. God made you in His perfect image and there has never been another in my life like you except for my wonderful mother, your daughter, that you raised to love us as much as you. Rest easy Nanny Bear until I see you again....I love you
Your granddaughter Gwen

To the Vaughan Family:
Of all the people I have had in my life, no one other than my own mother, has had a greater impact on me as Mother Vaughan. We laughed, cried, prayer, and worshipped the Lord together as I drove her down the road from one destination to another. She encouraged, provoked, ministered, and disciplined with love as she taught me and many others about the Christian experience. Her memory will live forever in me and my family for she said that "with what I have given you and with what you have, you can do great things."
Lift up your heads and be encouraged to know that God loaned her to you for a while. I cannot tell you not to be sad because I am saddened by her passing, but we know that she is in a better place and will see her in Glory.

Aunt Thelma was an inspiration throughout my life. I thought of her as my second mother. She was there when I needed prayer and someone to represent my mother when Deji, my son was married. She will always be my "shero" and I loved her dearly.

My dear Connie, Debbie, Mother Booker, Thurmon, Gerald, and Mother's baby boy (Anthony),
I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Mother Vaughan, but I am blessed to have had her pass through my life. I thank God that I was able to spend many days with her; gleaning from her vast wealth of knowledge. I sat at the feet of a virtuous woman. Mother taught me how to conduct myself as a holy woman of God, she taught me how to be resourceful, she encouraged me to be a cheerful giver, and most of all she admonished me to love and obey leadership. There have been four strong women in my life that helped mold and shape me (my dear mom, Mother Rosalin Short, Mother Johnnie Reid, and Mother Thelma Vaughan) though the Lord has called them all to rest, they will never be forgotten; in my heart or my memories.
May God bless you all, give you strength, and soon wipe away your tears and fill your hurting hearts with joy.

Our hearts were saddened when we heard of the passing of our dear state mother. Mother Vaughan was a lover of people and a holy woman of God. She has impacted our lives with her wisdom and gentle manner; we loved her and will miss her greatly. The scripture says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. We say to the family may the peace of God comfort you during your time of bereavement and you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,

This was a great anointed woman of God who was a teacher, preacher, an intercessory prayer warrior and mighty witness for the Lord. May the works she has done praise her in the heavenly gates. My father would say, Well done thou good and faithful servant. We will surely miss her and glad she was a part of our family. May God strenghten you at this time and know that he is there for you always.
