Thomas Caffrey Obituary
Thomas H. Caffrey, Sr., (95) of North Chesterfield passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Frances E. Caffrey, and his daughter Cynthia C. Smith. He is survived by his son Thomas H. Caffrey, Jr.: five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Tom grew up in Beaufort, NC and Virginia Beach, VA. He attended Oceana High School where he was a star athlete on the football, basketball and baseball teams.
He started his career with C&P Telephone Company (Bell Atlantic / Verizon) as a lineman/installer in Virginia Beach and retired after 34 years as a member of the engineering department in Richmond, VA.
Tom was an active member of Bon Air United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church, 1645 Buford Road, Bon Air, VA, 23235. According to his wishes he wanted to leave this life quietly. Therefore, there will be no funeral service. A private family-only celebration of life will be held later at the Rosewood-Kellum Memorial Park in Virginia Beach.
