Thomas Marvin Edwards Jr.

EDWARDS, Thomas Marvin Jr., passed away on June 27, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth "Uchie" McCullough Edwards; parents, Thomas Marvin and Maude Seal Edwards; brothers, Frederick Eugene and John Wesley Edwards; and sister, Ann Edwards Vath. He is survived by his brother, William Roy Edwards (Mary Kathryn); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Thomas was a 1949 graduate of John Marshall High School where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets, Company C. He had a 37 year career with the City of Richmond Fire Department, retiring as Division Chief of Training. Thomas was a member of the Masons, serving three times as Worshipful Master. He was also, a long standing member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church, where he served in various capacities.

The family is grateful for the doctors, nurses and other caregivers who oversaw Thomas's care over the last several years. Visitation and funeral services will be held at St. Andrews United Methodist Church on July 12, at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., respectively. A reception will follow in the social hall prior to interment at Riverview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 9801 Fort King Road, Richmond, Va. 23229.
