Thomas Andrew Garrett Jr., 81, of Petersburg, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003. He was predeceased by his wife, Katherine Garrett, and son, Thomas E. Garrett. He is survived by his wife, Lucille; sons, Curtis L. of Chesterfield and Roy A. Garrett of Richmond; daughters, Evelyn Carter of Colonial Heights, Brenda Newcomb of Chesterfield, Linda Chestnut of Mechanicsville, and Mary Garrett of Caroline Co.; brothers, Stuart Garrett of Sterling, Va., and Wayne Garrett of Chesterfield; and sisters, Shirley Parker and Irene Snelling of Chesterfield; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 2, 2003 at 1 p.m. at the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son, with interment at Sunset Memorial Park to follow. The family will receive friends Friday, August 1, 2003 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Crater Community Hospice, 840 W.
