Thomas Jones Obituary

JONES, Thomas Ray, 95, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at his home in Virginia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katheryne; parents, W. W. and Mary; two brothers, Cairo and Clyde; and one sister, Rachel Franks. He is survived by his daughter, Eutanaha J. Fluker; grandsons, T. R. (Anita) and Thomas Ray (Sarah); four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, having served in WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a Shriner and had been a respected businessman of Birmingham Toledo Scale Company for over 40 years before retiring to Virginia. He was a member of New Bridge Baptist Church. He had a gentle heart and never met a stranger. He would want his friends and family to remember his smiling face and outgoing personality with always an encouraging word. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him. May he rest in peace. He will be honored and celebrated at Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, Monday, October 24, 2022, at a 3 p.m. service. Those who wish to attend must arrive by 2:45 p.m In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to New Bridge Baptist Church, WEE Center, 5701 Elko Road, Sandston, Virginia 23150.
