September 7, 1925 - October 24, 2025
Gammon, Virginia Loving, of Ashland, born September 7, 1925, and went home to be with the Lord on October 24, 2025, at the age of 100.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Luther Nelson Gammon; her daughter, Evelyn Mae Smith; her mother, Sadie; and father, Julian), four sisters; Louise, Helen, Mildred and Catherine, as well as three brothers; Sherman, Julian Jr. and Floyd.
She is survived by her three sons; Luther Jr (Judith) of Ashland, Dennis, of Massachusetts, and David, of Ashland, as well as her eight grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
The family will be receiving guests on Thursday, October 30th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gwathmey Baptist Church, located at 11232 Gwathmey Church Rd., Ashland, VA 23005. A service will be held on Friday, October 31st, at 11 a.m. at Gwathmey Baptist Church, followed by a graveside service at Woodland Cemetery, located at 11310 Hanover Ave., Ashland, VA 23005.
