I am shocked and deeply saddened to have been informed just recently of Walter's passing.I regret I did not have the opportunity to express condolences then, having lost my mother that same year. My prayers and my heartfelt thoughts are with his entire family, particularly his parents, which I have had the honor and privilege of meeting some years past, and his brothers, whom I have had the opportunity to meet. To his wife and daughter, may Providence be your good fortune, as you continue to keep his memory and legacy alive.Good night Walter, we will see you in the morning !

To the Family of Walter Robinson, Jr.:
I was truly saddened to hear of the recent passing of Walter. I knew Walter for a number of years through the Howard Alumni Club in Richmond. As you know, he contributed so much to our club, and could always be depended upon to "pull things together." I personally considered him to be both a colleague and friend, and respected and admired him greatly. His devotion to his family was always obvious as was his commitment to the interests of African Americans. I will miss him. I spoke to him last after I relocated to the D.C. area to work with the federal government. As always, he was positive and supportive. As it happened, I ran into him while Christmas shopping. He was out with his mother shopping with her. It did not surprise me. That was characteristic of Walter.
I pray now that God's peace and comfort will surround you as you remember the wonderful caliber of man God blessed you with. I know my sentiments are echoed by all the members of our alumni club who were blessed to work with him over the years. If I can be of any assistance to you, please contact me at (202) 513-0648 or (703) 924-9306.

Valerie and Jennifer,
I would like to tell you both that Walter was one of the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I have heard many stories from he and Garry as they worked here at the house. The one about the cat and how it behaved when Walter had to take it away was one funny story as it was animated by Walter acting as the cat.
May God turn your tears into smiles as the memories come pouring in.

Valerie & Jennifer:
You know me from the Greater Refuge Church Family. Deacon Walker's Father's passing. I sat with Walter and you all at the repass.
I am sorry that it has taken me this long to let you know that you both and the Robinson Family are in my prayers. Your love for Walter will be even stronger because of the united faith and belief you have in the Lord Jesus Christ, who has granted Walter the peace he hoped for. Our Savior did not plant that tall tree here to stay but rather bare fruit in a manner for which only He desired. Walter's fruit is you, Jennifer and the thousands that passed his way where he shared his hopes and dreams; and most of all gave of himself in Love and Respect. I will not cease from praying for you two that you will be strong. I went to MCV several times to annoint him and send up a prayer for him. I now turn to thank God for you now. My love and that of our Church Family to you all. May the Peace of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ be with you always. -Amen

To the Robinson family:
I am so sorry to hear about Walter Jr's passing. I remember our childhood, growing up in Maymont.Walter Jr, Gary and Earl were our playmates and friends. Our families were all so close and we really took care of each other. As we pass through the seasons of our lives, the final season is always the hardest one on the family, but God's grace and His mercy will ALWAYS sustain you. Stand on His promises.
