Wesley Poythress Obituary

POYTHRESS Wesley Adam Poythress, age 16, of 310 Connell Road, Brodnax, Va., died Saturday, October 28, 2006, at Community Memorial Health Center, South Hill, Va. Wesley was born in Roanoke Rapids, N.C. January 17, 1990, the son of Wilber E. and Carolyn Edwards Poythress. He was a junior at Halifax Academy in Roanoke Rapids, N.C. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are; a sister, Crystal P. Elder and her husband, Paul of Littleton, N.C.; maternal grandparents, Carlson and Frances Edwards of Gaston, N.C.; and paternal grandmother, Louise Poythress of Gasburg, Va. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Halifax Academy, Roanoke Rapids, N.C. with Rev. Steven Mullenix and Rev. Charles Myers, officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery, Gaston, N.C. The family will receive friends at Wrenn Clarke & Hagan Funeral Home, Roanoke Rapids, N.C., Tuesday, October 31, 2006, from 7 to 9 p.m. The family requests memorial donations be made to the following: Shiloh United Methodist Church, Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 267, Gaston, N.C. 27832, Halifax Academy Building Fund, 1400 Three Bridges Road, Roanoke Rapids, N.C. 27870 or Central Rescue Squad, 5736 Gasburg Road, Gasburg, Va. 23857.
