Wilda Marie Ferguson

Wilda Marie Ferguson, of Richmond, VA, was born in Durham, NC, on April 14, 1944, and died Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at the age of 80, in the loving care of friends, family, and the wonderful staff of Westminster Canterbury. She was preceded by her parents, Rebecca Helen Davis and Elvin Henderson Ferguson. She leaves behind her cousins, Paul Ray Penny, Robert MacCaughelty, Linda Keith Hirschberg, Phyllis Mitchell Maher; as well as other family members in VA and NC. She also leaves behind her adopted family of friends including, Alice, Mike, Elizabeth, and Luke Ziemer, Fred and John Fraleigh, Steve Simon; and many other very special people that played instrumental roles in her life. In Wilda's career she fought for the aging of Virginia and was instrumental in putting policies in place that greatly improved the lives of Virginia Seniors. She was also an accomplished pianist and organist and was the music director of several churches in the Richmond area. She was deeply spiritual and loved her church families, most recently those at St. Stephen's. Wilda touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer's Association or charity of your choice.

Funeral service will be held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Richmond, VA, on October 8, 2024, at 11 a.m.
