William Childrey Obituary

William Earl Childrey

William Earl Childrey (W.E. or Bill) of Richmond, VA, passed away on May 12, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Phyllis and Earl Childrey. William served in the Navy and was medically discharged. He worked in infrared scanning, construction, and roofing. He was a member of the Metropolitan Masonic Lodge, Legion of Honor and the Richmond Valley Scottish Rite, and served as a Associate Bethel Guardian with Job's Daughters. He had a deep interest in the American Civil War and was active in the Freemasons and Shriners. He will be remembered as a devoted father, brother, and uncle.

He is survived by his daughter, Tonya Childrey; nephew, Joel Childrey; his twin brother, Philip Childrey, Sr; And though he never had the chance to meet them, William is also remembered by his grandchildren, Justin Chaney (24), David Barnett (23), Michael Frezza (21), Airyonna Frezza (18), Steffany Frezza (16), and Wyatt Frezza (13); as well as three great-grandchildren: Alexander (five), Aaron (one), and Keith (five months).
