William Grubb Obituary

William Grubb

February 4, 1952 - November 19, 2024

William " Bill" Odell Grubb, 72 of Quinton, VA, passed away on November 19, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born on February 4, 1952, to Doris and William Odell Grubb. One of many siblings, Bill cherished having a close-knit family. A true southern gentleman he became a mentor and confidant to many, always ready to offer guidance. Bill served in the Army National Guard, leaving after six years of service in 1977. After being honorably discharged he worked hard and purchased his family's business, from his father. Under Bill's leadership, the company flourished, becoming a hallmark of growth and success of an American dream. In 1993, Bill founded Grubb Motorsports. The team progressed fast, and with Bill's support, ultimately led to the team competing in the NASCAR Busch Series from 1997 to 2000. Alongside his beloved wife, Julie, Bill brought Millstone Farm and its Manor to life, creating a space that reflected his deep appreciation for history, nostalgia, and the beauty of their life together. Bill was an accomplished storyteller, able to weave even the most ordinary moments into unforgettable tales. Whether it was a chance discovery in the newspaper or a passing phrase, like "It's just a thing, Sugar," his ability to find joy in the small things, made him a cherished figure. Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon Grubb; his son, Kevin Grubb; his granddaughter, Rylee Grubb-Solaimani; and many other beloved family members. He is survived by his wife, Julie; his children, Michelle Grubb and Wayne Grubb (Holli); Lindsay Nichols (Charlie) and Kolden Buehler (Taylor); his grandchildren, Galloway, Della, Jordin, Scarlett, Alivia, Taryn, Reygan, Hudson, and Liam. Bill was, without question, the kind of man they don't make anymore-one whose legacy will endure in the hearts of those who loved him.

A private burial will be held for immediate family only.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Millstone Farm in Quinton, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the New Kent Sheriff's Office in Bill's honor.

Keeping the Grubb family in my thoughts and prayers. Bill was a kind and thoughtful man who cared a great deal about his family, friends, and community. The world is a lesser place without him on it.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Grubbs' family. My husband and I got married on his property in New Kent almost 18 years ago. He is one of the nicest people and was truly a joy to be around.

Grubb family, I only new Mr. Grubb from his supplying Chesterfield Fire & EMS a crane whenever we needed one and as I recall without charge. To exemplify the kind of man he was ,
when we called for a crane at Walmart in Colonial Heights after a tornado tore through the store the dispatcher told me that Mr. Grub had heard it on the news and figured we would need ne and had already diverted one to us. I always have appreciated him as a good man and citizen for his kindness .Paul Shorter, CFD&MS retired
