William Killpack Obituary

William Saunders Killpack

November 15, 1951 - July 5, 2025

William "Bill" Saunders Killpack passed away peacefully on Saturday July 5, 2025 at age 73. Bill was born November 15, 1951 in Logan, Iowa to William and Lucille (Saunders) Killpack.

He was a graduate of Rutgers University and later earned his MBA from the University of Richmond. Serving as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps, Bill and his wife Dianne were stationed in Arizona before settling down to start a family in Virginia. Bill worked as a CPA for decades in the Richmond area, as well as for a brief time in Romania. In 2012 he established Black Gates Farm in Dinwiddie County, Va., where he raised Black Angus cattle until retiring in 2021. Bill was thoughtful, quietly brilliant, and deeply loyal. He loved working with his hands, having long conversations with his kids, and showing up for the people he loved. Family meant everything to him.

He's survived by his children, Katie and Matthew (Emily); their mother, Dianne; and his siblings, Sandy, Bob, Dave, and Rick. Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy, and their parents.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Saturday July 12th from 5 to 8 p.m. at Bliley's Funeral Home in Richmond, Va.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you do something kind for someone in need or donate to the National Brain Tumor Society.
